Charis Stavrou is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in Cyprus. Charis obtained her bachelor’s degree in Psychology at the DeMontfort University of Leicester, in United Kingdom. During her studies in the United Kingdom, she conducted a research thesis on the influence of anxiety, bilingualism and confidence in selective attention. Furthermore, she obtained her master’s degree in Clinical Psychology at the European University of Cyprus. During her master’s degree she conducted a research thesis on school bullying and how it affects emotional intelligence and social relationships. Charis completed her clinical training at the psychiatric department of the General Hospital in Limassol, worked at KENTHEA in Nicosia and also at the Polydinamo Center in Limassol. During her Internship, she was trained on psychological assessments (WAIS-IV, WISC-V) and worked as a psychologist providing individual psychotherapy to children, adolescents and adults, families and group setting. She has been trained in a variety of psychological treatments and techniques: CBT, DBT, Psychodynamic and Systemic Psychotherapy. She is trained and certified in the assessment and diagnosis of ADHD in children, adolescents and adults. She also works with individuals to manage their symptoms of ADHD. Currently, she works at Altius Mind Institute offering individual therapy to adolescents and adults, couples therapy, parent counselling and ADHD assessments.
